This
was one of the most unusual projects we have done but was ultimately
a lot of fun. We were contacted by an architect designing one of
21 Connecticut themed cottages for a high-end resort complex under
construction in Morris. The theme of this one, of course, would
be Sikorsky.
The
trick would be to remake an old Coast Guard HH-3, which had spent
the previous 14 years in an Arizona bone yard, into a comfortable
and functional bar / lounge space, while still retaining the feel
of a piece of serious flying machinery.
Oh,
and it had to be slid into a custom built cottage only slightly
bigger than the helicopter itself...
